The inspiration for the artwork was not just to give people something to view, but to connect the art with the inspiration behind the wines at Pianetta. Brandon saw the passion behind the “grape to glass” approach of Pianetta wines.
Great wine really starts in the vineyard and each vineyard produces something unique. In order to incorporate the same feel with his installation, everything has been created out of upcycling grapevines, wine barrels and corks. He has created a conversation piece for customers, wine club members, art enthusiasts and passersby to enjoy.
The installation is large enough to be seen through the windows at the front of the tasting room, but the real treat is an up-close viewing of all the pieces of the sculpture, titled “Pianetta Love”
Meet the Artist
"This is Just the beginning" - Brandon Harward
Brandon RC Harward is a sculptor, jeweler, metalsmith and painter that works in a multitude of different mediums including; acrylic paint on canvas, glass, silver/gold/ bronze/copper/brass, found sea glass, beach rocks, and drift wood.
Brandon graduated from Texas State University in 2010 earning a Bachelors in Fine Art: Emphasis in Metalsmithing/Jewelry Design . During college he focused on nature inspired small scale silver/bronze sculpture and silver jewelry. After college Brandon spent 5 years honing his jewelry craft designing his own signature series of Texas nature inspired glass/silver jewelry.
He exhibited in galleries along the popular San Antonio River Walk and trade shows around Texas. During this time he also released two different painting series. The first focused on bright electric paintings best categorized as abstract realism. The second showcased paintings inspired by antique beads, and modern blown glass beads depicted in acrylic paint on canvas with zoomed in hyperrealism.
